Hi everyone! So after much waiting, my Spring Luxe Box finally came in the mail the other day. Here’s a look at my unboxing:
Here’s what I got, in order of what I was most excited to least excited to receive:
I LOVE this hand cream. It’s definitely an HG product for me, so another one is always great to have, although I wish I had gotten this in a different scent. Still, happy to be receiving it. This has already gone into my purse.
I was really excited to be receiving this – I love getting cute mini bottles of perfume, and this one has been fairly hyped up lately since it’s Marni’s first foray into fragrance if I’m not mistaken. I tried it on… And I don’t know if I really like it. Maybe it’ll grow on me. I think they tried a little too hard to make this perfume unique by not using any of the normal scents in perfume (ie. floral, citrusy, sweet scents).. to the point where it smells more like a men’s cologne than a perfume for women. It’s a warm spicy scent – think cinnamon, cardamom, and patchouli. Hm, I don’t know, I’ve thrown this into my stash but I can’t see myself reaching for this until the fall.
I’ve never tried a blending sponge before, so I was pretty excited to be receiving one. I’ve used it for the last few days and really like it! My boyfriend noticed that my skin looked more “smooth” so this gets my approval. The only thing is that after washing it the last few days it’s already gotten some cuts from my nails I guess when I squeeze out the water, so not good. But these things are so cheap to buy anyways, not a big loss I guess. Oh, and also I find I use a lot more foundation when using this product, even when I do the soak it in water and squeeze out the excess thing, which kinda sucks.
I thought this was an interesting concept… The description makes it sound almost like a substitute for an undereye concealer, which is great because finals are coming up meaning I will have the worst eyebags ever haha. I tried it out on its own and can’t say I’m overly impressed… It’s got a slightly shimmery finish, but it didn’t do much to brighten the under eye area. Maybe it’ll make my concealer hold up better if I use it as a primer (I guess that is what it’s meant for :p). But rant: I hate getting foil samples! So annoying. And I know that this definitely comes in a tube sample because I’ve seen it being offered elsewhere in a 5mL tube.
Hm, skincare. I have a Luxe box filled to the brim with skincare samples that I will probably never get through, so I’m not overly excited to be receiving another FOIL sample of face cream. The mud mask I’m really excited to use though!
It’s hard to get excited about shampoo. But I’m glad it’s a decently sized sample that should last me 4-5 showers, and it’s such a pricy product I would normally never buy. My hair is coloured, so this will be nice to try out.
And finally, there’s more skin care. This is a super generously sized sample that’s worth a lot, but I swear this comes in every single Lancome GWP, so I’ve already got a few little bottles of this in my stash. Still, I guess I’ve got enough to add up to being a full sized bottle now so I can try using them all up consecutively to see how effective it is. Not that I’m expecting much, anti-aging ins’t really on my list of priorities right now :p
Well, there you have it! My spring Luxe Box, with a total value of approximately $93. I’m happy with this box, although I’ve definitely seen much better ones out there. I’m a little upset I didn’ t receive anything at all that was full sized, versus seeing others who got multiple full sized products. Also, I really wish there hand been more makeup products in my box. I feel like I’m swimming in lotions, creams, and serums!
I signed up for a yearly subscription back when they first started the seasonal program, so I’ve still got a few more boxes left. I just realized I don’t think I’ve posted pictures of my Winter box yet, which I actually really did like, so I will probably get around to doing that soon.
What did you think about yours?
